Our fearless photographer and webmaster hd a busy day at StreetFest today starting with the Pancake Breakfast at the Olive Tree, petting cute dogs, getting a glitter tattoo, dodging raindrops, eating Jamaican Jerk, drinking Lorna's lemonade, listening to some cool music, more raindrops, watching families have fun in the Kid Zone, throwing an axe, more cute dogs, a couple of purchases, lots of photos and a PRIZE!!! (Thank you Brianne Hager - isn't it lovely)
One of the best things about attending the first night of a three-performance event is that you can tell everyone how much you liked it and they have the opportunity to enjoy it as well. Tonight the was the first performance of our Collection of One-Act Plays and you have two more chances to enjoy an evening of love and romance . . . the good, the bad, and the funny. (See pics)
You can purchase your tickets at the door (cash only) at the Black Box Theatre at Lakeland College. Performances are Saturday night at 7pm or Sunday afternoon at 1pm.
See it with someone you love, someone you like, or a random stranger who looks promising.
The evening just flew by as retired Saskatoon Police officer Ernie Louttit discussed his experiences, read from his first book, "Indian Ernie", and answered questions from a very entertained audience at this year's Lloyd Reads. See pics here
It was a very special viewing of Bearing Witness: Luke Melchior. Luke's sister-in-law came to the show and told us Luke was thrilled that we were showing the documentary. Since this film first aired in 2003, Luke has married. His condition has continued to progress and his physical self has become quite fragile. Highly recommend watching this film (available for borrowing at Lloydminster Public Library).
